This painting depicts the Palazzo Dario in Venice, Italy - among the most exotic palaces in Venice. Claude Monet painted this depiction of the palace while he was residing in Venice in 1908.
The painting can today be found at the Art Institute of Chicago. The palazzo itself is today private property and not normally open to the public. However, an agreement between the current owner and the Venetian art museum, Peggy Guggenheim Collection, makes it available for special art exhibitions.
